A  few humble suggestions.

Allow an option to post to public discussions only.

Have one continuous discussion, no separation by nations.

Give this all the tracking and other niceties nations have.

These would be open to all.

One could go to politics and find open discussions.

Or go to a politics nation and have a more limited discussion.

Or do both.

Give Newsviners a choice.

This may be better than civil war like the past civil wars within Digg.
